Sub Pop Apologizes For Fleet Foxes iTunes Error

The legendary indie label exclaims: *Due to technical (and a little human) error, the version of "He Doesn’t Know Why" from the brand new, self titled Fleet Foxes album that was available from the iTunes Music Store had two audio drop outs. This has now been fixed and all purchases henceforth will be correct and defect free, as the good lord intended. We apologize profusely for this inconvenience & would like to hereby offer a free MP3 of that song to anyone who would like it. Please accept this & our apologies for the mistake.*

Radiohead Plus iTunes Equals

The day has finally arrived. Billboard reports: *Radiohead's back catalog suddenly became available for sale via Apple's iTunes Music Store this morning (June 3) in DRM free files, removing it from the ever dwindling list of major holdouts from the digital download service. The band previously had a handful of songs on iTunes that were included on various soundtracks or compilations & earlier this year, Radiohead's new album, In Rainbows, was made available there.*

Radiohead Goes Digital

Here's more courtesy of Billboard: *Radiohead has finally broken its long-held ban on digital downloads by placing much of its catalog on a U.K. digital download service. The band's former label, EMI Music Group, struck a deal with 7digital for such albums as "The Bends" and "OK Computer." Only the full albums are available, not individual track downloads. The catalog also will be sold without any DRM protection, per EMI's broader effort.

This has been a sticking point with Radiohead for some time, and is the primary reason its work has not yet appeared on iTunes. Radiohead does have a handful of songs on iTunes that were included on various soundtracks or compilations. The 7digital service has scored a number of high-profile content exclusives of late due to its willingness to sell in album-only formats. Earlier this month it added Pink Floyd's catalog, and in August nabbed more than 20 Rolling Stones albums.*

Here's what we know about the track via press release:

The tune is titled 'Timebomb' and it will be available this Monday via iTunes, the single will be released on August 28th for all other digital stores. "The lyric of "Timebomb" echoes some of the dark themes from The Information but is packaged in digital gris gris thunder as only Beck can do it."

Frank Black Covers The Good The Bad & The Queen For EP

Frank Black's new iTunes-only short-player features not one, not two, but three buzzworthy covers. Ryan Adams Teams Up With iTunes For 'Tiger'

According to Ryan's MySpace bulletin, pre-orders via iTunes will entitle you to 'a bonus live track and a live video performance of "Two" plus access to concert tickets before the general public.'

If you recall, about a year and a half ago, Depeche Mode was the first band to incorporate iTunes with pre-sale tickets.

The partnership was a massive success.

For a look at Ryan's upcoming tour dates (NYC still not announced), hop over to Alt-Country.org.

To judge the album's cover art, follow this link.

Easy Tiger will be released at the end of the month.

Today In WTF: iTunes Accidentally Leaks Bjork's 'Volta'

Woops! Someone's getting fired.

Bjork's much-hyped new album, Volta, found its way onto the iTunes UK store on Sunday evening for five hours (a full two weeks before its official release). Those lucky enough to be searching during that particular gap of time are now the proud owners of the LP.

No word from Bjork's camp and/or label just yet, but it goes without saying that they are less than pleased with this turn of events...
