Let The Music Slut Heal What Ails You

"Hair of the dog is a colloquial English expression predominantly used to refer to ingestion of alcohol as treatment for a hangover. It is occasionally used with respect to dealing with the aftereffects of use of other recreational drugs. It is a shortened form of the expression 'the hair of the dog that bit you.'"

Peasant: Beautiful and lovely
Luke Wesley: Piano, pop perfection
The Subway Band: Waltzing in Spain

Come out and nurse your holiday hangover with a free show at the Knitting Factory. We promise not to talk too loud.

Luke Wesley Falls 60 Feet and Lives to Tell the Tale

On September 8th 2005, New York based singer-songwriter Luke Wesley plunged sixty feet off a roof on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He crashed through the roof of the building next door and when his devastated friends found him, was standing up and brushing himself off, even with the collapsed lung.

Two years later, Luke threw a party to celebrate his stroke of invincibility. Filmmaker Brook Silva-Braga caught wind of the shindig and tagged along with me to a roof in Brooklyn to film the event. The result is a post on Brook's new site, TheInterviewPoint.com. Check it out.

Above is a pic of Luke re-enacting the fall with a blow-up doll.

Luke Wesley @ Matchless 6/21: FIGHT!

Crap! Why did I not stick around longer after the show? Don't listen to your parents kids, everything awesome DOES happen after midnight.

From Luke Wesley's newsletter:
That's right. If you came to the show last night and didn't stick around to see the real show where Mike Grubbs (Wakey! Wakey!) and I kicked a couple guys out of the bar, then man were you missing out. Which just lets you know that anything at all can and might actually happen at one of my shows (alright maybe not at my show...but relatively near it).

Luke Wesley's show last night was full of friends and full of joy. We all sat in front of the stage and cat called, chatted and sang along. You can catch the fun at Luke's next show this Monday at Rockwood. It's free, so there is no excuse not to take my advice again.

Good News For Those With No Money

Tonight has two insanely awesome shows going on in Brooklyn timed perfectly with each other and set at a price we all can afford- FREE.

First is the awkwardly titled The Williamsburg MAKE MUSIC NEW YORK Stage presented by JellyNYC and featuring Oxford Collapse, Best Fwends and Cheeseburger. All bands are worth seeing so make sure you hop the train right after work to get there by 6pm. The show ends at 10pm when I am sure the coppers will shut it all down.

But have no fear you party animals. After you are hosed off the block party, hop a cab and head to Matchless where one of my favourite new singer, song writer, rockers, Luke Wesley, will make you wonder why you are just getting hip to him now.
