It's no secret that I have been a little obsessed with the World Cup. Today's Germany/Sweden match-up was another great game. Germany is a fantastic, frightening, team to play. Within the first 11 and a half minutes, they had scored twice against Sweden and kept the 2-0 edge throughout the game. I was rooting for Sweden, but today it seemed that they just didn't come to play. Their keeper was screaming at the team as he had to save goal number four from going into the net as the Swedish players just looked on. Even though I would have preferred a Swedish win, there is something great about watching a home team win - the crowd is enough to make you switch allegiances in a heartbeat.
This afternoon's game promises to be exciting as well. Personally I'm looking towards Argentina for the win but the ESPN announcers seem to believe that Mexico is going to pull it off. Match starts at 3pm est. on ESPN.
During the tournament so far, I've been rather enticed by the Adidas Jose+10 commercials. Besides the adorable kids, the Jim Noir song used in the background is brilliant. My Old Kentucky Blog beat me to blogging it, but you can download 'Eanie Meany' by Jim Noir here if you already haven't. Jim Noir has been supporting KT Tunstall this past week on her British tour and will be making the rounds at a fair few festivals.
Also, you can download 'It's Only Us' by Robbie Williams here. It was the FIFA 2002 theme for Britain and can only be found on Robbie's Greatest Hits Album.
Anyone have any exciting Cup watching plans for tomorrow?
