There are 2 clear choices for where you should be tomorrow night if you are braving the rain here in the city.
Those who wish to stay in Brooklyn MUST check out the beautiful sounds of Ian Love. He's playing a gig at The Magnetic Field with Paul Schneider. His sound is heavily Nick Drake/Elliott Smith- influenced with maybe a hint of Eels. Imagine what Dashboard Confessional would sound like if he had more than just a pretty face. He would probably say otherwise... you listen and let me know what you think! Also of note, he is my neighbor and has the cutest baby in the entire world, hands down!
Ian Love - The Only Night
Your other choice, if you wanna stay on the island of Manhattan, would clearly be to see Music Slut-approved We Are Americana at The Annex. They are also playing with our beloved Hourly Radio and newcomers, Young Love. WAA is beautiful as well, in an entirely different way. In the Morrissey way. In the I-can't-get-this-song-out-of-my-head way. In the we-can-easily-be-the-next-big-thing way. Don't miss it!!
Hear some tracks off of their EP, HERE!
UPDATE: IAN LOVE'S SHOW IS ACTUALLY NEXT THURSDAY, 6/29!!!!!
