Today, the NYPost wrote an article about blogger buddy Bryan's website, Ruinedmusic.com. Pretty awesome huh? They asked celebrities, like Moby and Paul Anka, which songs have been ruined for them. Check it out.
If you have a story you would like to submit to Bryan, and girlfriend Mary, head over to Ruined Music's submission guidelines and give it a go. Just try to make it funny and not too long.
When Bryan first made the site, I remember racking my brain trying to think of funny stories of ruined songs. The only song I could recall that leaves a sour taste in my mouth is 'Don't Fear the Reaper' by Blue Oyster Cult. In 1999, I had this crazy frienemy who lived down the hall freshman year and she loved that song. She also loved a boy on our hall and made that song her theme for him. Everytime she would talk about this guy, she would bring the song up on her computer but it never ends up reminding me of him, just her- an insane hick who made my life very unenjoyable that year.
In honour of what's past is past and Bryan in the paper, here's Wilco's live version of 'Don't Fear the Reaper.' Enjoy!
