After The Hourly Radio, your sluts checked out MusicSlut fave We Are Americana for a midnight set at Lit.
The band was in fine form and the crowd was eating it up, particularly during setlist-staple and EP-opening 'My Body Hates Me'.
We were also treated to some new tracks on the soon-to-be released LP out in early '07.
'Blushing Rogue' was by far my favorite of the new tunes. I think WAA has played it before, but they have really perfected it into a true gem. Think Placebo, The Smiths and Thursday all cuddled together in one small tent. The 1-2 closing punch of 'Blushing' and 'You Are The Cause' left a sweet taste in my mouth.
Jess was his animated self, leading the band and the crowd like a pack of wolves. Clocking in at 8 songs, this was the second set of the evening that we wished went on for much longer.
My only request is for '16 Hours'! That song is the tops and can be sampled on the band's MySpace. You'll agree I'm sure.
Their next show is September 7th at 169 Bar. We demand your attendance!
