Just in time for the holidays!
Via Billboard: The Cure's nine-date run at European festivals in 2005 will be chronicled on the DVD "Festival 2005," due Dec. 5 via Suretone/Geffen. The film includes performances of 30 different tracks culled from professional footage and clips shot by fans, the crew and band members themselves.
The tour was the first for the latest lineup of the Cure: lead singer/guitarist Robert Smith, bassist Simon Gallup and drummer Jason Cooper, alongside guitarist Porl Thompson, who had been out of the band for 12 years. Among the tracks featured on "Festival 2005" are "Fascination Street," "Just Like Heaven," "A Forest" and "Disintegration." Also included are "A Night Like This," "Shake Dog Shake," "The Drowning Man," "Signal to Noise" and "Plainsong." Last November, Smith said the band was about to head into the studio to record the follow-up to its 2004 self-titled album, but it is unknown how far along that project is at deadline.
Let's hope what they're working on is better than the last album; what a tragic release that was! Let Thursday sound like Thursday, OK?
