I am at work right now sitting in an empty office, my bosses are off on a case-shhh, I'm a secret agent, listening to the Brothers of the Head soundtrack and it is just awesome. I feel that it is somehow wrong to really love rock songs written for a fake band in a movie, it is sort of like being a huge Wyld Stallions fan, but I don't care. The songs are sexy, dark, daring, intriguing and rocking. My favourite of the bunch being the couplet of the sweet 'My friend' and the dirty 'My friend (you cunt).' Another song of note is 'Doola and Dawla'- a tune about the imaginary friends whom lived in their sister's shoe.
Besides the soundtrack, I thought the movie to be interesting as well. I watched it in bits and pieces over a week but I think if watched straight through, the film could be a bit draining. Brothers of the Head is a mockumentary (god I hate that word) about two Siamese twins who are made into punk stars by a music executive during the 1970's. Though the music in the film is good, what is most captivating about is the relationship between the twins. Their emotions towards each other run the gamut from true love to utter hate. It is worth a spot on your netflicks cue just to see their interaction.
