I'll be honest, I secretly, or maybe publicly, hate it when I love the largest buzz band of the moment. This happens every so often, and I just can't help but feel like I've been put under a spell without any way of getting it undone.
Such is the case with Klaxons. When I first heard their myriad mixes floating around the web, and their unique yet ridiculous videos, I was certain it just wasn't for me. That is, until my ears were introduced to their truly spectacular full-length, Myths Of The Near Future, out in the UK this week. It brings to mind early 90's britpop, mid-90's Prodigy-like electronica, and a randomness reminiscent of Animal Collective. I LOVE IT (dammit!). In particular, their latest single 'Golden Skans' is amazing. One of the best tracks of '07 thus far (there, I said it!). Check it out below. I dare you not to want pump up the volume, sing along and do your signature dance move, whatever it happens to be.
Now I'm regretting missing their Studio B & Midway shows a few months back. When oh when will they come back to the States to rock my world? I'd even bust out my glowsticks for you, Klaxons. But only for you.
