The next iTunes? The next MySpace? I guess only time will tell. HITS has the dirt on the new buzz site:
Blastmymusic.com is a free website that offers musicians the necessary software enabling them to sell MP3s and drive traffic to their websites. The brainchild of 25-year-old founder Chris Fellure, the MusicBlaster player, which can be downloaded to any site, allows individuals, as well as labels, to sell digital downloads for 99 cents apiece, with 65% of each sale going directly to the artists. Blastmymusic.com processes each transaction, handling all customer support and offering payments to artists with transparent accounting after a 30-day verification process. Says Fellure: “We believe this could be the killer app to give the industry the kick-start it needs to move successfully into the future.”
The site is currently boasting a tally of 15,000 purchased songs per day. Artists already loving BMM include The Hero Factor, Sounding The Silence and our beloved, Cassettes Won't Listen (who will be a part of our Spring Fling on 3/24 @ The Delancey!!!). Musicians - I highly recommend perusing around the site. 65% is a damn fine percentage! Don't you agree?
