With a population of under 600,000, how many people in Glasgow do you think are in a band? I am putting it at a rough 1/3 of the people whom at the very least, were in a garage band at school.
Well, the 1,386,056th band to come out of Glasgow has been on heavy rotation at Slut headquarters now for a month. The catchy, retro music can just barely be categorised amongst the working class tunes of Arctic Monkeys. The infectious hooks and clever lyrics set this band apart and the fact that each song on the mysteriously titled Costello Music is so vastly different, should make you appreciate them even more.
I won't pass full judgement until this month's live shows, but so far, I love everything about this group. From their nostalgic cover art to their shrouded beginnings, Costello Music might just be the second best album of the year. But you can guess who is number one...
