Ha! For any of you who've stumbled across a link/discussion of 'Sujfan's new EP - It's Not So Cold In Texas' today, take heed, it's a phony! Apparently sometime this morning, an artist (presumably an Asian artist based on the vocals) fooled a myriad of Sufjan fans by posting a fake link to the EP on a variety of message boards (Sufjan's, Radiohead's and Sigur Ros's just to name a few).
I figured the thought of Suf releasing an EP, totally unannounced (especially since he's characteristically very hush hush when asked about the next state he's choosing to write tunes about) sounded bizarre and my initial reaction was right.
The Sufjan impersonator not only came up with a pretty clever EP title, but even a 7-song tracklisting, as follows!
01 - Billy Grieves (4:48)
02 - Waco! The Alarms Have Sounded (8:36)
03 - A Gentleman At The Borders (3:15)
04 - Amarillo (4:46)
05 - The Night Of The Longhorn And All The Merry Goblins (3:16)
06 - Gulf Of Holy Spirit (4:12)
07 - Pleasant in Pleasanton (2:21)
Haha, nice one! Should you dare to hear the sham for yourself, then follow this link.
