Via Contact Music: Rockers FRANZ FERDINAND are reinventing their sound to distinguish themselves from contemporaries like the KAISER CHIEFS and RAZORLIGHT - by replacing their trademark guitars with synthesisers. The DO YOU WANT TO band are currently working on their third album and are changing musical direction to keep their sound fresh. Guitarist NICK MCCARTHY says, "We want to be as pop as we can. We're going to lose the electric guitars and play synths. There are too many guitar bands out there now."
I'm actually rather intrigued, I think this might be a good step for the Scots after a somewhat disappointing/critically nixed sophomore disc.
