Here's some disturbing news this morning, from Australia's Herald Sun: MICHAEL Hutchence's brother Rhett has defended his decision to sell the dead singer's belongings on eBay, insisting it is all in the name of love.
The 44-year-old Byron Bay resident yesterday rejected claims he was trying to cash in on the former INXS frontman's fame almost 10 years after he died. Hutchence said he was selling some unimportant knick-knacks on the auction website so he could afford to move to the Netherlands to be with flight attendant girlfriend, Lissette, 28.
"I assure you all the really important things I'm keeping. I will be passing on a lot of these things to (Michael's daughter) Tiger when she's old enough," he said. "The fact is I'm in love . . . she's young and beautiful and everything I could want. I just need to raise some money so I can be with her.
"Michael wouldn't have minded at all -- he would be happy I'm in love and have some direction in my life." Mr Hutchence said he was disappointed his mother Patricia Glassop had disowned him for selling a personal fax between Michael and Kylie Minogue on the site for $400. "As far as I can see it's just a piece of paper that Michael has written on, proclaiming his love for Kylie -- I don't see a problem with that. "I'm surprised she said that. She could have asked me about it first."
Shameful!
