'Bridging the Distance: A Portland, OR Covers Compilation' features covers from Fleetwood Mac, Yes, Billy Idol and even Johnny Hates Jazz as performed by a myriad of modern day heroes including The Thermals, Britt Daniel of Spoon, Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie, The Dandy Warhols, The Decemberists and a slew of others (as listed below).
The compilation project benefits 'p:ear', 'a mentoring programme for homeless and transitional youths specializing in helping to bridge financial and class distances'. The album will be out next month; April 17th to be precise. Looks and sounds pretty darn good to me! More info on p:ear can be found here.
