The screamoholics leave major label, Island, and are unsure of what the next step will be.
Billboard reports: Rock outfit Thursday has left Island Records, according to a post on its MySpace.com site. "It was a difficult decision and it took us the better part of six months to come to an agreement with the label but now that we have both of us are very happy with how things have turned out," the band writes.
Thursday's Island debut, 2003's "War all the Time," had sold 364,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. But last year's "A City by the Light Divided" has shifted just 132,000 to date. The group signed with the label after an angry split from Victory, which issued its 2001 breakthrough, "Full Collapse."
"We have not decided where this new record will be released yet," the post says. "Although we've had several wonderful offers already, we're just enjoying our freedom for now."
