Interpol - The SpecialistThe last track on Interpol's (now out-of-print) first EP dating back to 2002, this tune later resurfaced on an OC compilation in '04 and has been a fan favorite since day one. 'Specialist', which clocks in close to seven minutes in length, and includes such lyrics as "you park me in your Buick/you sing songs into my lips/well I am speckled like a leopard", doesn't exactly garner your immediate attention upon first listen.
However, the track's slow progression and climactic build (true to Interpol form) overshadows the sometimes trite lyrics quite easily. An old favorite amongst the band as well, 'Specialist' has taking on a life of its own as one of Interpol's most requested live tunes. Take a listen to the gem below.
