K-Rock is back with chock full of alterna-hits, beginning tonight.
Via The Tripwire: *Our jaws hit the floor today when we read that K-ROCK is returning to the Big Apple. Yes, New York City will once again have rock back on the airwaves. FMQB broke the news earlier today, announcing that the twenty-year old brand is coming back, even reclaiming their original call letters.
Since Howard is obviously not returning to his old home at K-ROCK, mornings will continue to be handled by Opie & Anthony. We can expect to hear plenty of alt-rock from the '90s, as well as some current stuff as well. The core artists listed on the CBS sales pitch included U2, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Papa Roach, Green Day, and Foo Fighters.
According to the soon-to-be-defunct Free FM site, the return of K-ROCK should happen today around 5pm. Say goodbye to Free FM, and welcome back K-Rock!*
