Missy Elliott - Hot (Ratatat remix)Back when Ratatat was touring behind their wonderful self-titled debut LP ('04), they seemingly shared a bill with every one of my favorite acts. First, I saw the NY-based electro duo open for The Stills @ Bowery, then for Clinic @ Southpaw, and lastly with Mouse On Mars @ Bowery, once again. At the Southpaw show, I whimsically purchased a Ratatat remix record of modern-day hip-hop hits, simply because it was an artist-approved bootleg, limited edition, five dollars, and featured Missy Elliott's irresistibly catchy track, 'Hot'. As it turns out the entire album was chock full of awesome reworkings, including but not limited to reinterpretations of Ghostface, Kanye West & Dizzee Rascal. My favorite to this day is still the Missy remix. Check it out, in its full glory, below.
