No, it was just Jake Shears up on stage with her at the Music Industry Trust Awards. She won the award this year. Not only was she was the first woman to win it, but she was the also first Australian and the youngest person ever to win the award. We were very proud and excited - and so we crashed the party!
You’re working with pretty much every cool artist on the scene. Has it felt like a long ride?
It’s been a very busy journey. Does it seem fast? I don’t know. I don’t think that having the sort of success and exposure we’ve had can ever feel slow – in fact, it’s pretty overwhelming when you go out and play for 20,000 people. It’s mind boggling.
Do you see your UK audience as being quite conservative?
I definitely wouldn’t say that. I would say that there are plenty of conservative people who like what we do, and there are also plenty of complete freaks who like what we do, too.
