MOG reports: *Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli frontman of The Afghan Whigs will be hitting the road together as the The Gutter Twins. The Sup Pop veterans will release their debut album, Saturnalia for the label on March 4th, 2008. I couldn’t tell you what Saturnalia’s theme is, but there’s a seeking of transcendence that’s new.” Dulli syas of The Gutter Twins. “I have never written songs like this before” it’s a different temple I’m visiting.” Lanegan and Dulli hooked in 2002 for some minor collaborations which grew into The Gutter Twin concept. Since his Screaming Tree days Lanegan had released solo albums and collaborated with Belle & Sebastian’s Isobel Campbell, as well as the Queens of the Stone Age. Post-Whigs Dulli formed The Twilight Singers, who released their first album, Twilight As Played By The Twilight Singers, in 2000.
The duo set out on mini-Euro-American tour in February 2008.*
