MySpace Star Gets Own Show On VH1

With a record-holding 1.7 million MySpace friends, MySpace skank musician/phenomenon Tila Tequila is taking her scantily clad self away from bulletin boards and friend requests and into the lovely and fabulous world of VH1.

HITS is reporting that a reality series featuring Tila is in the works and should have its premiere sometime this summer.

HITS also is declaring: Tila has been trying to launch her music career with “I Love U,” a single produced by Lil Jon... but...despite her net notoriety, Tequila was able to sell just over 13,000 downloads.

Courtney Love & VH1: Together At Last!

Billboard reports: Courtney Love, the cultural explosion of New York circa 1977 and the Air Guitar Championships are among the subjects of five feature-length documentaries set to air on VH1 part of its "VH1 Rock Docs" series. The network said each of the documentaries will reveal an "untold story in the history of rock and hip-hop music," combining never-before-seen footage with a "unique and unconventional narrative approach."

"The Return of Courtney Love" is set to make its U.S. debut Dec. 16. The other titles will roll out starting early next year. "The Return of Courtney Love," an acquisition from the U.K., follows the rock singer as she works to get her life back on track after drug addiction and rehab and writes and records a new album. It also will feature unseen home movie footage of her late husband, Kurt Cobain.

The tentatively titled "1977" is a two-part, two-hour documentary that tells the story of a year in New York when the city had "fallen into decay" but became "one of the most creative times any city has ever encountered." The documentary features interviews with major figures from the era and discusses the emergence of hip-hop, punk and disco, graffiti art and sexual liberation. Meanwhile, "Air Guitar Nation" centers on the first official U.S. Air Guitar Championships and follows one person's journey to become a world champion. Documentaries about comedian Tommy Chong and a four-part series on America's sexual history are also in the works.
