Billboard reports: *Morrissey has split with artist management firm ie: music after just three months. An ie: music spokesman confirmed that it had parted company with the ex-Smiths frontman, but declined to give any details. Morrissey joined ie:music in May, following his split with previous manager Merck Mercuriadis, ex-CEO of the now defunct music company Sanctuary U.S.*
Here's a cute little story (courtesy of M-S) regarding Mozzer's visit to Rhino last weekend: *Morrissey approached the info booth. He was taller than I expected, somewhat shy & very polite. He was looking for anything that we had by the band Generation X (Billy Idol's old outfit). Of course, we were fresh out of this band, but I took the opportunity to ask M to autograph my CD, and he graciously accepted. On Wednesday, we told you about Live At The Hollywood Bowl. Here's Mozzer's reaction to the film (via True To You): *The slapdash release of Morrissey's Live At The Hollywood Bowl is done by Warner without any consultation to me whatsoever, and is in breach of their terms as laid out by themselves in an agreement made for the film between Warner and my ex manager. Being Warner, predictably the sleeve art is appalling. It is the work of cash hounds, and I urge people NOT to buy it. I am not signed to Warner, and no royalties from this DVD will come to me. Please spend your money elsewhere. thank you, MORRISSEY.*

Here's the saddening news on Jerry Finn (the man behind You Are The Quarry & Years Of Refusal): *Jerry is not in a coma but is unconscious and hooked up to life support. He is being cared for by Dr. Black. He is the best in his field just as Jerry is at producing records. There is brain activity and he appears to be responding to touch, they are running tests and monitoring and keeping him in stable condition. Despite what has happened to Jerry, he is fighting to survive this. The family requests that there be no visitors at this time. You can't send flowers but you can send cards so that they can be read to him. When asked about The Smiths in a recent feature, here's what he had to say: *I'd never really got them before, but when I saw them live I thought, 'fucking hell'! When they hit hit the stage it made me think of the Jam days; there was an explosion when they hit the boards... but I never listened to any of their records to tell you the truth. I liked a couple of singles, but I was never a fan. I'm certainly not a fan of Morrissey's solo stuff. It's a weird thing, because he's a bit of a fan of mine but it's not reciprocated.
