Voxtrot Replacing The Coral On Arctic Monkeys Fall Tour

Via Voxtrot's MySpace: *Oh, it's crazy times here at Voxtrot HQ. We were just getting ready for a couple of weeks back home, when the Arctic Monkeys rang up to see if we'd join them on their US tour. We said yes, of course. How could we pass that up? Unfortunately, as a result, it means that we're cancelling the rest of our European dates as well as the US west coast. The US dates will be rescheduled before the end of the year.*

New Coral Album Cover: Love It Or Hate It?

The Coral's fifth LP, Roots & Echoes, will be released across Europe in early August. Internet rumors seem to suggest that this album will be The Coral's 'comeback' record. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some truth to the speculation as I'm a massive fan of both their debut and sophomore efforts. While we wait ever-so-patiently for Roots & Echoes, check out all the album deets (including track listing) here, and tell us if you love or hate the cover art below. The Coral Sets Release Date For Next LP

Details are scant but The Music Slut has learned that The Coral will release their upcoming full-length, Roots And Echoes, internationally on August 6th.

The album will be preceded by the LP's first single, 'Who's Gonna Find Me?' on July 30th. Rumors are flying that this record is a return to form, a la the band's magnificent self-titled debut (read our declaration on the album's 'classic' status here).

The last time we checked up on The Coral, they told us that the new disc would be like 'Zappa sharing a jazz omelette with Gnarls Barkley'.

I gather they've rethought that idea since February.

The band wil be touring the UK festival circuit this summer. Unfortunately, there are no current plans to return to The States anytime in the near future.

Hmm, that's either a recipe for: a) disaster or b) extreme amusement.

Let's hope for the latter! The Coral shares info on their upcoming album (recorded in Noel Gallagher's studio) via their MySpace:

"We're just ending the album process with a few of us off to New York next week for 'mastering', then if all goes to plan then the latest long player from The Coral should be in your grubby little hands very soon... Zappa sharing a jazz omelette with Gnarls Barkley!"

Noel Gallagher Has A Heart After All

Just in from NME: Noel Gallagher, Kasabian and The Who are among the acts confirmed for this year's series of London shows aimed at raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity. Oasis star Gallagher plays the first two nights (March 26/27), supported by The View and The Coral respectively. Kasabian play on March 29, while The Who, whose frontman Roger Daltrey organises the event, play on March 31.

There will also be a night of comedy hosted by Russell Brand and 'The Mighty Boosh' star Noel Fielding on March 28, with more names due to be announced over the coming weeks. Announcing this year's line-up, Daltrey said: "Over the years these shows have really made a massive difference to the money available to build TCT units in NHS hospitals. They also give our teenagers the moral support to help fight this terrible disease".

The line-up for the 2007 shows so far is as follows:
-Noel Gallagher and The View plus special guests (March 26)
-Noel Gallagher and The Coral plus special guests (27)
-Comedy hosted by Russell Brand & Noel Fielding (The Goth Detectives) w/ special guests (28)
-Kasabian (29)
-Special guests (to be announced on February 12) (30)

The Coral was brilliant that night. All gazillion members of the band put on their best hats and completely floored the DC crowd. From that day onwards I've been a huge fan of their debut eponymous disc. The biggest hit stemming from this album would conclusively be 'Dreaming Of You'. This song will never get old, tired or rusty, as will any of the tracks on the LP. The album was released FOUR years ago this week (hard to believe) and still stands as strong as it did on the first listen.

I don't really like the mornings. You have to get up and go to work, and really, that sucks. Quite a lot.

But bands seem to think mornings are great! A wee while back there was The Coral with their bouncy take on 'In the Morning', and now Razorlight have got in on the act, with the excitingly-original-title 'In the Morning'. It's a nice, spikey, exhortation not to have any regrets. Well, I have this to say to you, Razorlight. I often do remember more than just a thing the next morning. And I often feel deep, deep shame at what I've done. Mainly because it involves remembering that I danced in public to Girls Aloud.

Oh Well. Razorlight's new album will be out in early August. It doesn't seem to have a title yet.
