Well, certainly this was sad news to wake up to!Seems like the Irish 3-piece (who have gone through multiple sexy female bassists over the course of their career, the original bassist is in this accompanying photo) are through, citing record company disputes as the cause for the break-up.
I was a big fan of theirs a few years back, the self-titled debut and I To Sky were fantastic records. I was actually secretly hoping they'd do a US tour sometime in the near future (they haven't been here since 2002) but I guess this sorta crushes my hopes. To think, the only time I saw them they opened for Pete F*ing Yorn (he disgusts me now for the record) and played a half hour set.
My eulogy to the band comes in the form of this Placebo song, the opening track from the new album, Meds, 'Song To Say Goodbye'.
