If you recall, last month I briefly mentioned a book that was going to be released featuring the artwork of Jonsi (frontman of Sigur Ros) and his boyfriend, Alex, entitled Riceboy Sleeps. Well, I must have been exceedingly nice this year because Santa delivered Riceboy about 8am this morning and I could not be happier to have my very own copy of the limited edition storybook (only 1000 made internationally).
The book is roughly the size of a postcard and has about 40 or 50 pages inside. The images throughout the pint-sized hardcover feature distorted/shadow-induced photos featuring little children, paintings of myriad species of birds, and drawings of young girls, tall trees and what I consider, angels. It's stunning. The book also has an antique feel to it, achieved by the repeated use of rustic browns, sea greens/blues and grey hues, as well as the beautiful front and back cover.
For stills from the book, take a look over here. If you can't wait and want the book immediately, before they are all sold out (I hear very few remain), well, then, buy the book here!! The official site featuring a video, some text, etc here. It will probably answer all the questions you have floating through your head.
