Via NME: "God bless the Arctic Monkeys because if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have been so shielded. We were so overshadowed by the success it (their album) because it was so monster and we crept in behind everybody's back. Arctic Monkeys shielded us from having too much attention...It's amazing. It's incredible what they've done."
Sounds a little backhanded to me, no?
Either way, time will tell if NME maintains their erection for these 2 bands in 2007. I, personally, love both of their debuts and hope the follow-ups are just as fantastic.
