New Travis LP On The Way, Finallly!

Chris Martin and Fran Healy are even better friends than we initially thought.

Seems like Chris was the guest host last night over at BBC1 and randomly premiered the new Travis single 'Big Chair' on the Zane Lowe show. Apparently Travis has FINALLY completed their long-awaited, Nigel Godrich-produced new album, Open. No release date set but I'm guessing April/May.

In more Travis news, it seems like the band has also FINALLY decided to give into MySpace pressure from their fans. Check out their page here! They only have 9 friends as of this morning! The MySpace blog entry, their first, declares a massive tour throughout '07. Fingers crossed. The last time they stumbled through here was FOUR YEARS AGO at The Beacon Theater!

In related news, does anybody remember back when Travis' The Invisible Band came out ('01) and the guys did an in-store at Virgin Mega Union Square? Chris Martin was up on the balcony while the fans were downstairs, and he was humming along to 'Sing' at the top of his lungs. It was fantastic. If my memory serves me correctly, Coldplay was headlining Radio City later that week. Wow, I can't believe that was nearly 6 years ago!
