A Brief Smile Gay-Bashed On NY Radio

Rachael of The Underrated Blog points us to a intensely homophobic interview with A Brief Smile, as conducted by the utter pricks who run 92.3's 'The Dog House'. I'm seriously at a loss for words. Luckily, Rachael transcoded the interview into a convenient MP3 format which can be found HERE. You can listen for yourself and hear how horrible these hosts are.

As the story goes, Music Slut Spring Flingers went on the program last week to discuss the band, their music and just basically introduce the radio world to one of NY's brightest shining bands. What they surely didn't expect was for 'The Dog House' DJs describe their music as pretty good 'minus the homo part'. What happens afterwards is an brutal escalation into labelling the band's music as 'faggy' and then ultimately, repeatedly pummeling ABS bassist, John, with anti-gay slurs after his request for the 'DJs' (used incredibly loosely) to end their homophobic comments and declaring his bisexuality. John winds up leaving the set after the morons refuse to curtail their language. Then, a parade of callers chime in throwing out insults the band, and in particular John, a whole other bevy of anti-gay slurs. Truly. fucking. disgusting.
