Friday night marked my third visit to Jukebox The Ghost(town). In addition to a rousing set at the day portion of After The Jump Festival, the trio also piqued my interest during an earlier visit to Pianos back in March (
review here). Now, nearly five months have passed and Jukebox The Ghost has lined up a spectacular residency at the L.E.S. haven.
At the opening evening of Jukebox's well-received stay, the DC-based band not only packed the house but also won over a slew of stoic and/or jaded Le Loup fans planted firmly within the first few rows. Jukebox's 45-minute set highlighted their lone EP as well as some new tunes and a handful of diligently-chosen covers. Absolutely ace. Catch Jukebox this Friday with A Brief Smile & Wakey! Following Jukebox was the District quintet that majestically lit up The Music Slut's Holiday Show of '06 - Exit Clov! The group was in fine form as always, treating attendees to a combination of old favorites and new tracks to be featured on their forthcoming as-of-yet untitled LP.
