Friday night marked my third visit to Jukebox The Ghost(town). In addition to a rousing set at the day portion of After The Jump Festival, the trio also piqued my interest during an earlier visit to Pianos back in March (review here). Now, nearly five months have passed and Jukebox The Ghost has lined up a spectacular residency at the L.E.S. haven.
At the opening evening of Jukebox's well-received stay, the DC-based band not only packed the house but also won over a slew of stoic and/or jaded Le Loup fans planted firmly within the first few rows. Jukebox's 45-minute set highlighted their lone EP as well as some new tunes and a handful of diligently-chosen covers. Absolutely ace. Catch Jukebox this Friday with A Brief Smile & Wakey! Wakey! or the following Friday with Mason Proper & Sure Juror. Learn more about Jukebox here at the band's MySpace page.
Following Jukebox was the District quintet that majestically lit up The Music Slut's Holiday Show of '06 - Exit Clov! The group was in fine form as always, treating attendees to a combination of old favorites and new tracks to be featured on their forthcoming as-of-yet untitled LP. I can't urge you enough to check out Exit Clov. Should you choose to follow my advice, then hop to the EC's official site here. Download an Exit Clov MP3 at bottom.
